Jenny Lewis and Twins

Jenny Lewis played a great show at Stubbs on Monday night. Lewis, the Watson Twins, and her band played a set that brought a fullness to Rabbit Fur Coat, both in sound and stage presence. They also unveiled some new music, my favorite of which is a song called Acid Tongue [savefile]:

"I went to a cobbler
to fix a hole in my shoe
He took one look at my face
and said, 'I can fix that hole in you.'

I beg your pardon,
I'm not lookin' for a cure,
seen enough of my friends
in the depths of the godsick blues

You know I am a liar
You know I am a liar
Nobody helps a liar

The recording of Acid Tongue is from the NPR Live Concert Series. You can listen to the whole of her set here.
